I was wondering since Telerik controls now supports .net 4.0, is Sitefinity 4.0 doing the same?   When are ya going to start leaking a little info, I am very interested in the next version.

    Thanks,
    David

    Hi David Pearson,

.NET 4.0 will be supported from Sitefinity 4.0. We are going to have two builds  - against .NET Framework 3.5 and - against .NET Framework 4.0.

    Best wishes,
    Ivan Dimitrov

2 Features I need in sitefinity currently that don't seem to be there are the comments for each work flow piece, and email notifications with comments for each work flow piece.  I don't want to have to code a bunch of stuff to get this to work, as this should be a standard feature in any work flow product that is a CMS.  DotNetNuke does it for its paid version.

Will these features be included in Sitefinity 4.0 since it is getting a new workflow engine?

    Hello Andrew Chandler,

Workflow comments and notification service will be supported out of the box in Sitefinity 4.0. You could implement this in 3.x with minimum efforts as well.

How?  I tried following another link before and it was too confusing talking about ControlConfig.  I could not find any file with that name or find that section.

I want to have comments and emails for generic html control approval process.  I dont care as much for news or blog at this time, but for the generic html sections, I need that now.  I am using the 3.7 demo version right now to show my company that this will work.

What link will show me how to accomplish this or is there a detailed example of how this is done?

    Thanks,

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew Chandler,

You could take a look at this blog post that shows sample implementation and will give you idea how to implement this. For sending emails you could take a look at this KB

The sample implementations could be moved to each GenericContent module, so it does not matter whether you use GenericContent, News, Blogs etc module.

    All the best,
