    Hi!

I have looked up the developers manniual but was unable to find any information on how the Solutions database is designed.

Which tables get poplulated when i create a blog / event.
When the contents of the page gets published does it move to another table.
Can you direct me to a document which can guide me on which table what data is getting stored.

This way i can query the database from SQL server manager.

    Thanks!

    Hello Smitha,

we have not explained the database schema on purpose, because we are strongly discouraging our users to work directly with database and instead we encourage the usage of Sitefinity API.

Here are the documents explaining Blogs and Events API respectively:
    http://www.sitefinity.com/help/developer-manual/generic-content-based-blogs-api-overview.html
    http://www.sitefinity.com/help/developer-manual/events-api-overview.html

The reason we are discouraging users to work directly with database lays simply in backward compatibility. Namely, as you may know we will be introducing the new ORM tool in Sitefinity in v 4.0 - which will introduce surely some changes in the database schema. While we will maintain full backward compatibility for the API all our users who coded directly against database will have to rewrite their code.

I hope you'll find this information helpful. Let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

    All the best,
    Ivan

ok. I was just wondering because one of the other CMS project  i worked on 3 years back had given me this option. I was making sure if i had missed it in the documentation.
