    Hi there,

Is it possible to trigger a custom action when user uploads a file/image? I am trying to integrate sitefinity with a content delivery network (CDN). This will require sitefinity to FTP the uploaded file to the FTP server of the CDN operator. Is this possible to code into sitefinity? If so how big a taks is it likely to be and how to go about it?

    thanks
    Gpl

    Hello,

We implemented this functionality in our CMS. The result should be seen in our next version. You will be able to use the Amazon S3 service. We expect to release Sitefinity 3.6 by the end of this month.

I suggest you to wait for the official release, but let me know if this is not possible.

    Hi Georgi,

That's great news. My CDN is not amazon S3. How would I go about connecting to an alternate provider?
I think I am unlikely to be able to wait until then as well. Is there an alternative approach.

    Thanks
    Gpl

    Hello,

In this case you should work on provider level. Your provider should take care of the upload to the CDN storage, while still providing the files in Images and Documents module. This is exactly the approach we followed for the S3 provider.
Here is how we upload files to this module at the moment - Using ContentManager with Libraries

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
