    Hi,

    I'm having a bit of trouble with design time support in visual studio. Specifically, when I create a new Sitefinity project, and open the website in Visual Studio 2005, the design view of any page fails. I see the common design time error message:

    Error Creating Control - form1
    Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

    When viewing the source code any .aspx file, the CmsForm tag is always underlined, with the tooltip stating "Element CmsForm is not a known element. This can occur if there is a compilation error in the Web site."

    <sf1:CmsForm ID="form1" runat="server">

    I've compiled the site many times successfully, so I know this is not the issue. I also tried to open the TIU and JobsIntraSite sample sites and found the same issue.

    Am I missing something in the process?

    Thanks,
    Kevin.

    Hi Kevin,

    This is a known issue with SiteFinity 3.0 but there is a workaround available for it and involves switching back to using the standard form tags temporarily.

    Cheers

    Thanks for the heads up Sean.  I tried searching the forums first but must have missed that thread.

    The workaround is pretty simple and should work well.

    Cheers!

    Kevin.
