    Guys, I am pretty sure of the answer, I just thought I would come here to hear it from you :)

    I have sitefinity set up right now in what I will call "mixed mode".  I have the standard Sitefinity security as well as authenticating some users (for forums, etc) through Active Directory.  My company (xyz.com) has a separate domain (abc.com) that is set up as a trust in AD.

    I am trying to add another security provider so the employees in abc.com can be authenticated through their AD login as well as keep the ability for xyz.com employees to login through their AD login.  It seems that I can only have one AD tied to Sitefinity.  is this correct?

    Hello Josh,

    For the backend you can only have one membership provider. You can have multiple providers for the frontend of your website. Generally you can extend the backend login and allow some users to access it even you use different provider for authentication.
    You need to check whether the user that is trying to login belongs to the other membership provider and create the same user in the current backend membership provider.

    MembershipProvider  prov  = Membership.Providers["CustomProvider"];
           MembershipUserCollection uColl = prov.GetAllUsers(0, 2, tRow);
           if (uColl.Count > 0)
               foreach (MembershipUser muser in uColl)
                   if (muser.UserName == UserNameTextBox)
                       // proceed with creating this user in a temp role
