    Hi,

I would like to know if Sitefinity has in-built support for setting permissions at record/row level access for end user of the site based on the role?

    Hello Sandip,

Thank you for using our services.

Permissions are based on ASP.NET role management  and role providers for  ASP.NET applications. our RoleProvider inherits from RoleProvider Class. Currently we do not support granular permissions per items. There are granular permissions only per item owner ( this applies only for pages).

Let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you.

    Best wishes,

    Hello Sandip,

"Currently we do not support granular permissions per items." - there are not suitable methods that you can use. The while implementation is role based. The only way is getting the username(or the owner of an item)  and the role and restrict some access to an item or hide some controls to prevent this  item from deleting or some other operation.

We will implement  granular permissions from Sitefinity 4.0
