Hi, I've installed the 3.2 beta on a clean machine (not upgrading from a prev. version).

I've gotten the install completed, and I've created my first site from Project Manager.  I created it with no template, because of course there are no templates in the current beta version.

First, my question is how would I use an instance of SQL other than SQL Express?  I don't see any way to run the database creation wizard from the Project Manager as the manual suggests.  I'd like to use a SQL 2005 database on another machine.

I did install SQL Express on this machine to see I could get it to work.  I had to change the security settings in the site's directory, but once I did that, I could get the login screen to appear when I clicked "edit" in the Project Manager.  However, I can't login at this screen.  I tried "admin" "admin", but that didn't work.  Maybe it's somewhat related to this thread.

If I could log in to the SQL Express database, or get a new database created on SQL 2005, I think my problems would be solved.

    Thanks

    Hi Chris Williams,

Please try moving the project virtual directory to the Classic.NET AppPool, check the pool's settings and restart the application. You should then be able to get to the second step of the project startup wizard. (see attachments)
You can find more information about installing Sitefinity under Vista in the User Manual > Installation and Deployment > Installing Sitefinity under Windows® Vista.

Do let us know if this doesn't fix the problem.

Thanks, that did the trick completely!  I moved the app pool of the SiteFinity directory to Classic, but I didn't see that another virtual directory was created when I created a new project.

    Thanks!
