    Just downloaded 3.2 SP2 Community Blank Project , opened it up in VStudio 2k8 and upgraded to .NET3.5.  When I try to run it from within VStudio i get the following error :

    Error    30    Unknown server tag 'sfWeb:CommentItem'.

    Sitefinity\ControlTemplates\Blogs\CommentsList.ascx    18

    This error pops up in a few of the user controls within the site.

    Anybody else seen this?  Any suggestions / solutions?

    Thanks,

    Karim

    Hello jbull & Karim,

    The problem you are getting is related to templates. Fortunately, the fix is very simple. Please follow the instructions below:

    1.       Template path:
    ~/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/Blogs/CommentsList.ascx
    Actions:

    a.       Add the following line at the top of the template
    <%@ Register Assembly="Telerik.Cms.Engine" Namespace="Telerik.Cms.Engine.WebControls" TagPrefix="sfWeb" %>

    2.       Template path:
    ~/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/Generic_Content/CommentsList.ascx
    Actions:

    a.       Add the following line at the top of the template
    <%@ Register Assembly="Telerik.Cms.Engine" Namespace="Telerik.Cms.Engine.WebControls" TagPrefix="sfWeb" %>

    3.       Copy this file:
    ~/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/Blogs/App_LocalResources/ContentViewItemList.ascx.resx
    to this folder :
    ~/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/News/App_LocalResources/

    4.  Open this file:
    ~/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/News/ContentViewItemList.ascx
    and remove (delete) following markup on lines 29, 30 and 31 :
    <p>
       <asp:Literal ID="content" runat="server"></asp:Literal>
    </p>

    I hope you'll find this information helpful. Let us know if we can assist you with anything else.

    Sincerely yours,
    Ivan

    Thanks Ivan that did the trick.  How come these settings weren't set this way though to begin with?  Did I miss a step or something?  Just wanted to understand a bit more about this in case something similar comes up moving forward.

    Thanks for the quick response on this though, was glad to be able to get this up and running this evening!
