I have a Web site run by Sitefinity 3.7 (for example: domain.com). I want to add an asp.net application in the Web site domain.com that will not be controlled by Sitefinity, so I create an application such as domain.com/application.

When I try to access domain.com/application I get the error listed below. How do I get Sitefinity to ignore requests for an application beneath it? I wan the top level of my domain to be managed by Sitefinity, but I am not ready to import my custom asp.net applications yet.

    Error:
Parser Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'Telerik.Framework' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

    Source Error:

    Line 161: </eventMappings>
    Line 162: <providers>
    Line 163: <add name="Simple Web Event Provider" type="Telerik.Utilities.TextFileWebEventProvider,Telerik.Framework" logFileName="~/App_Data/sitefinity.log"/>

    Hi Developer,

The problem is that in ASP.NET when you have nested application there is web.config inheritance. You have to stop the config inheritance by setting inheritInChildApplications property of location element to "false". You should also use <remove> and <clear> tags.

You can gather more information at http://www.kowitz.net

    Thanks Ivan.

Would I set this on the web.config in my Sitefinity3.7/websites/mysite folder or the web.config in the Sitefinity3.7/websites/mysite/Sitefinity folder?

    Hi Developer,

In the application from which the application is thrown - in this case Sitefinity.

    Sincerely yours,

I did what you suggested above with the location element and everything is working correctly now.

    Thanks a million!
