I've just tried Sitefinity and one of the main reasons i decided to give it a shot was because of the built-in support for MySQL (compared to DNN where reliable data provider for MySQL seem to be hard to come by).
Unfortunately I'm getting the following problem when attempting to view the "Live Site" though.

    Server Error in '/testproject' Application.

Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Xml.XmlException: Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1.

    Source Error:

An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.

This was the same problem as reported by someone previously in this posting:
    http://www.sitefinity.com/support/forums/support-forum-thread/b1043S-behbcd.aspx
I tried the workaround by updating the stored procedures as recommended, but the problem is still persisting.

    Any ideas?

    thank you,
    Rose

    Hi Rose,

The problem described in the thread (http://www.sitefinity.com/support/forums/support-forum-thread/b1043S-behbcd.aspx) you have pointed out is actually fixed in Sitefinity 3.5. You are using version 3.5, right? So, even if the error and the stack trace look in the same way, probably the cause is different and the workaround provided there won't work in your case.

We tried to reproduce the error locally, but with no success. Could you please describe us a simple scenario to replicate the problem? Also, it will be very helpful if you send us the sf_cmscontrolproperty table from the database.

Thanks for your cooperation in advance.

    Greetings,
