We have removed the default web from our produc tion server. The installation fails because it cannot find that web site. How can I perform an install? Can I copy files from my TEST environment and create the virtual directory under a werb of my chaoice and then update the web.config from the metabase entry?

    Thanks,
    Joe

    Hello MICHAEL FRANCO,

You can install the project on your local web server and then migrate it to the production root using FTP.

    Ivan,
There are two interpretations to your response. Please clarify:

    1. Install Sitefinity to server1, which still has a Default web site. Then copy all of the installed files to server2 which will actually house the production sites. This would let me create and administer new projects from server2.If this is the case, do I need to copy more than the install folder from server1 to server2?

    2. Install Sitefinity to server1, which still has a Default web site. Create and administer all projects from server1. Once the new project is created on server1, copy all of the files to server2 under the preferred web site. Build the project on server2.

    Thank You!

    Hi MICHAEL FRANCO,

I would prefer using the second approach. Also working with Black Projects is easier way than using the executable.

    All the best,
