    Hello Cliff,

Do you have .NET Framework v2.0 and IIS installed on your computer? Also, make sure ASP.NET is registered properly in the IIS.

We would recommend you uninstall Sitefinity using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility that is offered by Microsoft. Make sure that no files and folders remain in the installation folder and that all system requirements are met (refer to our Installation Guide for details). Then you can proceed with the new installation.

If the above does not help, please, provide us with a screenshot of the installation error and details for your machine configuration (OS and exact version, IIS version, .NET Framework version).

Do let us know how it goes.

    Sincerely yours,

    Hello Cliff,

Go to Internet Information Services (if running on Windows XP, for example, you could find it this way: Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Internet Information Services ). Open Help -> About Internet Information Services. A window will prompt with the version number.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

    All the best,

    When I went cmd.exe
then copied C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis –i, all I get is a listing of what the registration options are. It doesn't seem to do anything to help me correct the asp.net. Help

    Hi Cliff,

The permissions to the metabase are insufficient, or because the permissions are set incorrectly. Check the link from the error http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=267904
Try using the line below. Here is an example where we grant the permissions to the ASPNET account.

    aspnet_regiis -ga ASPNET
    aspnet_regiis -ga <windows account>

    I hope this helps.

    Greetings,
    Ivan Dimitrov
