    One of my clients would like to upload PDF files and create links to those file, but the file upload limit will not allow the 2-4Mb file size.

    Is there a global setting to change the limit or please point me to the code that creates the restriction?  I am using v3.0.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Bill,

    If you want to increase document file size for RadEditor in Sitefinity, the file that you have to modify is /<your_project>/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/EditorConfigFile.xml. This is the config file that is used by RadEditor in all modules. There, you should find the following code:

    <property name="MaxImageSize">204800</property>
    <property name="MaxFlashSize">102400</property>
    <property name="MaxMediaSize">5242880</property>
    <property name="MaxDocumentSize">512000</property>
    <property name="MaxTemplateSize">204800</property>

    Since .pdf files are regarded as documents, just change the MaxDocumentSize property to the value you wish. Currently, it is 512000.

    Hope this helps.

    Sincerely yours,

    Hello Bill,

    Please excuse me - I have found that there must be a second change which is specific when using RadEditor in Sitefinity . You should add the  following  code in the <system.web> tag in the web.config file:
    <system.web>
      ...
      <httpRuntime
       executionTimeout="90"
       maxRequestLength="100096"
       useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="false"
       minFreeThreads="8"
       minLocalRequestFreeThreads="4"
       appRequestQueueLimit="100"
      />
      ...

    Originally, the number was 4096. When I changed it to a higher number (as is in the example - 100096), it works.

    Hope this helps. Pleas write if there are still any problems.

    All the best,

    Hello again,

    Finally getting back to this project.  Still no luck on the changes.  I modified the web.config file in both my root and Sitefinity folder and still no luck.  Something else strange, I modified the EditorConfigFile.xml to the following per the previous post, but the Maximum Upload Size prompt still says 500Kb, and I still cannot upload a 1.7Mb pdf file.

    <property name="MaxImageSize">204800</property>

    <property name="MaxFlashSize">2048000</property>

    <property name="MaxMediaSize">5242880</property>

    <property name="MaxDocumentSize">4048000</property>

    <property name="MaxTemplateSize">204800</property>

    I have event tried to modify the /RadControls/Editor/ConfigFile.xml to the same entries as above, but still no luck.  This page seems to be driven by the /RadControls/Editor/Controls/FileUploader.ascx but I cannot track down how the maxFileSize is set on that page.

    <script>localization.showText('NoteMaxSize');</script></b> <asp:label id="maxFileSize" runat="server" />KB

    This may seem a silly question, but do I need to restart IIS to force a reload of all the xml files to get the changes to take effect?

    Hope this helps...please advise, I am determined to figure this out now.

    Hello Bill,

    This is strange since I tried it and it worked. Regarding the change you tried: if you change the ConfigFile.xml, you need to specify that the editor uses this specific configuration file. You could do that in /<your_project>/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/Generic_Content/EditorTemplate.ascx. The ConfigFile property should be set to the configuration file you prefer to use. The following code shows where to change it:

    <radE:RadEditor runat="server" ID="RadEditor1"
        ConfigFile="~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/EditorConfigFile.xml"
        ...

    Restart your IIS.

    Please try the above and tell us if it does the trick.
