    Hello,

I am trying to setup a new project/website with a trial version of Sitefinity 3.1.  After entering the correct information for the SQL2005 database, I get the error below.  My database admin assures me the login/user as all of the necessary rights.  What am I doing wrong?

    Hello Frank,

The cause for this is that you do not have permission to use the SQL command CREATE TABLE in the database named QBIN2_sitefinity. The solution is to GRANT permissions for creating table on the QBIN2_sitefinity database to your user.

Also, what do you mean by "
entering the correct information for the SQL2005 database"? If the database and the website are on the same machine, you need just to create the database and add the ASP.NET account as a db_owner.

If this does not help, please send us a more detailed information in order to assist you.

Let us know how it goes.

    Kind regards,

I progressed a little further along in trying to start a new website/project.  The newest error is: Could not find stored procedure 'NN_NextValue'.

    Hello Frank,

This error most probably means that the database your project is trying to connect to is not upgraded yet.
You could try to cause the startup wizard to display when you run the site and you will be able to set the database connection. To achieve this, you need to make the following configurations in the web.config:

    1. Disable Role Provider:
    <roleManager enabled="false" cacheRolesInCookie="true" defaultProvider="Sitefinity"

    2. Disable Cms:

    <cms defaultProvider="Sitefinity" pageExtension=".aspx" disabled="true"

If you still get this error, please send us your project with the database so we could investigate it locally.

Tried your suggestion and I still get the same error.

I have a backup of the database.  I can't image you needing the entire project (it's empty!).  What particular part/files should I include?

Who should I email this zip file to?

    Hello Frank,

You can send us the project database only. Please log in to your Client.net account and from My Support Tickets, open a new support thread and attach the DB as a zip file.

    All the best,

    Hi,
I encountered the same error ie: could not find stored procedure 'NN_NextValue' when I deploy my website to production server.

I've edited web.config to conform to what Pepi posted, and the site could run. But all of the images and documents on Image&Document library are gone. Is there anything wrong with my installation / database?

Any help will be appreciated. Thank you

    Hello Rahadyan,

Please note that the images uploaded through Images & Documents module are stored in the project database and not in the file system. So it is extremely important to specify the database connection settings to point to the old database when you start the wizard. Do you use a new database or it is the old one but the data for Images & Documents is lost?

    Best wishes,

    Hello Pepi,

Thank you for your reply. I found out that I have forgotten to upload the modified web.config file, so the one that is currently on the production server is the same web.config as in the dev machine. However, the site ran well, and the "could not find stored procedure 'NN_NextValue'" error did not occur anymore except when I tried to vote on polls and also when I login to the admin side.

Besides the NN_Next Value error, all images that I've uploaded through Image&Documents module are also lost. To answer your question, the connection string points to the database that I migrated from dev machine to production server using DTS Import/Export Wizard since I don't have permission to attach mdf files (I'm on shared hosting environment).

Out of curiosity, I tried to display the startup wizard after disabling role manager and cms by modifying web.config as per your instruction. The wizard did appear. However, on the first step (entering db & login details), after I click "continue", the following error occur:

    Server Error in '/' Application.

Unable to save config to file 'd:\domains\SEKARGEGANI.COM\wwwroot\web.config'.

    Hello everyone,

I've finally managed to overcome the errors by reuploading the database. It turns out that the tool I've used to migrate Sitefinity db from dev machine to production server ie. SQL Server Import/Export Wizard  (the one that is on C:\Program Files\Microsoft Sql Server\90\DTS\Binn\DTSWizard.exe), did not completely migrate the database, resulting in errors on Sitefinity.

So, I've reuploaded the database from dev machine to production server using Microsoft Database Publishing Wizard, available for free on http://www.codeplex.com/sqlhost. After reupload and correcting the images path, my site work flawessly.

Conclusion: Don't use SSIS to migrate your db, use Database Publishing Wizard instead.

    Hope it helps!

    Cheers
