Currently, Sitefinity uses Nolics.NET
for database CRUD, using forward egineering
, to create its databases. We only implement a provider using Nolics.NET and do nothing related to databases ourselves. In the upcoming 4.0 release we are planning on using Open Access
, and this will probably eliminate some of the problems end-users are having.
We need to reproduce the issue you experience in order to help you, so, please, would you give us some more information:
- a complete stack trace
- you need to verify that remote connections are indeed turned on (Start Menu->All Programs->SQL Server 2005->Configuration Tools->SQL Server Surface Area Configuration, then Service Area Configuration for Services and Connections->Database Connections->Remote Connections; tjhen in the same dialog go to SQL Server browser->Service and ensure it is running) I give you the instructions for 2005 as you haven't specified any version.
- a complete information about your working environment: OS, SQL Server, bit-ness (32 or 64), .NET version, SF version, web.config, the created db.
- short description on how to reproduce the problem
Thank you for contacting us. We are planning on improving the user experience for 4.0 during installation and upgrade, so any feedback is appreciated.
