    Hi,

Does anyone hosts a sitefinity site in DiscountASP ? I'd like to know in their environment which probably is Medium Trust what is working and what is not just to consider if it is worth moving from my current provider due to some "reflection permission exception errors" in news content and  search indexing.

    Best regards

I am currently hosting my Southeast Valley .NET User Group (http://www.sevdnug.org) site with DiscountASP.NET and have had no issues.

The support is very responsive and helpful.

    Hi Joseph,

I had a look at your site and most of the modules work (news, events) . I found just an error with search module which I post below.

    Server Error in '/' Application.

    Parser Error

Description: An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately.

Parser Error Message: Unknown server tag 'sfEng:Pager'.

    Source Error:

    Line 23: </asp:Repeater>
    Line 24:
    Line 25: <sfEng:Pager ID="pager1" runat="server">
    Line 26: <LayoutTemplate>
    Line 27: <asp:Repeater ID="PageRepeater" runat="server">

About the issue that Quade mentioned, slow performance on backend - administration of sitefinity, what is your current experience on DiscountASP.NET?

    Thanks both for your replies.

    Best regards

Thanks for letting know about the error on my site.  Last weekend I deployed SP2 of Sitefinity and did not test the search. I will check it out this weekend.

I have nothing bad to say about DiscountASP.NET, I have not had any speed issue with the hosting plan I have.  Maybe Quade is having issues with his hosting plan.  It could also just be the nature of the Sitefinity administration module.  The administration module essentially loads configuration and forms on the fly and that can take a second or two.  I actually see better performance on my sites administration section than on my local machine.

it actually seems to be a bit faster today, so whether they have upgraded their servers or bandwidth......last time i checked was about 2 weeks ago.

    Hi,

Finally I moved a site on DiscountASP.NET and I commit here my experience.

    1) Hosting environment is Full Trust so no more conserns and special web.config settings. All modules work.

    2) Their support service is incredible fast. I was able to do a full site upload and database restore in less than an hour

    3) Administration works ok sometimes fast sometimes normal.

Anyway if I have any other issues I'll let you know. Thanks for your help.

    Best regards
