    Hi Matt,

Thank you for using our services.

As I see it, you are trying to install the project manager. The Project manager requires an administrator permissions during its installation which are not allowed by your host security policy. I suggest that you should install Blank Project. If you are on shared hosting account with medium trust level, please configure Sitefinity to works under medium trust. More information can be gathered from our User Manual.

Okay, so I looked at all of the links you posted.  I don't have IIS on my local test machine.  I used Visual Studio to run it and compile it before zipping it.  Then I uploaded it to Godaddy which doesn't have a way to change the Virtual Directory like described in IIS on a local machine.

    Hi Matt,

    Try setting <roleManager enabled="true".
The value should be true if you have created an admin user. Otherwise the role manager is disabled.

    Ivan,

I don't know if this makes a difference but all I have done is taken the blank site and ziped it up.  I have then uploaded it to my Godaddy account and proceeded to unzip it.  Once I finished that I went to the URL to start the setup and got the above error.    I'm hoping I missed a step in  the installation.

I did the same thing on my test machine at home and it is working great but I have full control of IIS at my house unlike at Godaddy.

    Hello Matt,

The problem probably appears, because the databse was not upgraded properly and Sitefinity is trying to upgrade it, which cannot happen in medium trust. To avoid this you need to make sure that there is no need of a database upgrade. Usually Sitefinity upgrades the database when you run a project and there are version differences. So make sure that you open the site locally, then log in the admin backend. After this, just upload the project and the database to GoDaddy and it should work fine.

    Hello Matt,

The error is thrown because you are trying to install or upgrade the database on GoDaddy server instead of your local server. Please set up your website and database locally. Login to the admin area create some content or pages. Then backup and zip the whole website and its database. Afterwards, migrate the project with FTP to GoDaddy server, attach the database by changing the web.config  conntectionString node.
