I'm trying to configure a site, and I get an error saying "Can't create/write to file 'C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\#sql_4f4_0.MYI' (Errcode: 13)". I need some help on this one.

    Hello Jeff,

Error 13 means access denied. Please right-click directory C:\WINDOWS\TEMP, find "Permissions" tab and check the permissions. Please make sure that mysqld-nt.exe has full access to the TEMP directory.

How do I make sure mysqld-nt.exe has access to this directory? All of the permissions on the TEMP directory are set correctly for read/write.

    Hi Jeff,

    Thanks for contacting us.

Please send us a screen shot of how your permissions are set up. Is your application logging in as ComputerName/ASPNET or another user? If your application is logging in as a Windows User, does that user have read/write permissions on the C:\Temp folder? It's possible that your application is logging in as a user that doesn't have read and write permissions set up. Stopping and restarting MySQL might also solve this issue.

    Sincerely yours,
    Joe

I set the permissions to give every single user full read/write access. I added the ASPNET account as well as IUSR accounts. These are the same users setup in the wwwroot and can read/write no problem.

Actually it is not resolved... I guess I was not clear with my last post. The read/write permissions work fine for folders in the wwwroot directory. However, Sitefinity still generates errors trying to write to the Windows\Temp folder. Unfortunately I've wasted enough time trying to get Sitefinity to work, and will no longer be considering this as a solution.

    Hello Jeff,

We are really sorry that you did not manage to set up Sitefinity on you machine. We believe that this is a server side configuration problem. If you want we could transfer your post in a support tread and schedule a web conference meeting in order to install our product remotely.

We look forward to hearing form you at your earliest convenience.

    All the best,

Thanks for the offer but I'll try it on another computer when I get a chance. This server is configured properly for both IIS and ASP.NET and works fine with other .NET applications. Your application should work seamlessly "out of the box" but that doesn't seem to be the case.

    Hi Jeff,

The error is related to the MySQL server's permissions. We apologize that we could not resolve the problem though.

Let us know if you have any questions or problems when testing on the other machine.

    Best wishes,
    Georgi
