    Hello,

I've gotten past a few issues that I've already had regarding permissions to set up the virtual directory (had to install windows authentication and turn it on), but now when I give Sitefinity my database connection info, it brings up the following error:

An error occurred loading a configuration file: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity3.6\WebSites\SitefinityEval\rsj1bded.tmp' is denied.

I have no ASPNET user since I'm using Vista, and my application pool is running under the NETWORK SERVICE account, which has full access to the "WebSites" folder in the installation directory.  What permissions do I need to grant in order for this to work?

    Thanks

    Hello Mark Bourland,

You should set read/write permissions to the web.config for the user running aspnet working process, which is  NETWORK SERVICES for IIS 6.x. and 7. Restart the IIS after that. We do not  writing the web.config to a temp file - we are just updating it. Probably the file C:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity3.6\WebSites\SitefinityEval\rsj1bded.tmp ' is created by .NET Framework.

Ivan, thanks for the quick reply.

I've double-checked and the web.config file has Full permissions granted to the NETWORK SERVICE account.  There must be another account under which ASP.NET is running in order to create this temp file.

    I'll keep digging.

I've got it working now.  The IUSR account needs the permissions.

    Let the evaluation begin!
