So I have been having some issues with SiteFinity Community, I found them while I was following a webinar on creating modules.  I decided that maybe something was messed up during the initial installation of SF:CE, since I wasn't sure what I was doing at first.

I uninstalled SF:CE, removed all of my projects from IIS manager, then reinstalled SF:CE from a newly downloaded executable (running as administrator of course). Before I set up a project, I made sure that my app pool in IIS was set to classic .net. I created a new project, selected SQLExpress, clicked next and got this:

    Server Error in '/sf_gsow' Application.

The operating system returned error 6(The handle is invalid.) to SQL Server during a read at offset 0x00000000180000 in file 'C:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity3.6 Community\WebSites\sf_GSOW\App_Data\Sitefinity.mdf'. Additional messages in the SQL Server error log and system event log may provide more detail. This is a severe system-level error condition that threatens database integrity and must be corrected immediately. Complete a full database consistency check (DBCC CHECKDB). This error can be caused by many factors; for more information, see SQL Server Books Online.

    Please help me out here!

    Hello andersleet,

The problem seems to be related to your SQL server. I suggest that you should create a new database for your project. Run the DBCC Checkdb on the current database.

    Use <database_name>
    dbcc checkdb with data_purity
