    Windows 2008 64-bit
    IIS 7
    ASP.net 2.0 & 4.0
    Classic .NET AppPool v2.0

I have gone through 6 unistalls/reinstalls of sitefinity / .net / IIS. I thought this final time was going to work.

I started with only asp.net 2 installed. Installed sitefinity, following this guide:

    http://www.sitefinity.com/devnet/installation-guide.aspx

After installation, the project manager wouldn't load due to one of the installed handlers expecting asp.net 4.0. I registered 4.0, having it NOT change existing web applications. That got project manager to load and I created a project.

Now, when attempting to view/administer the project, I get the below error, which appears to say there is no handler assigned to .aspx. Obviously, this is incorrect, which is why I am posting here. No matter what I do, I always end up back here.

    -----
    Detailed Error Information
    Module IIS Web Core
    Notification MapRequestHandler
    Handler Not yet determined
    Error Code 0x80070002
    Requested URL http://localhost:80/xxx/Sitefinity/cmsstartup.aspx
    Physical Path C:\Program Files (x86)\telerik\Sitefinity3.7\WebSites\xxx\Sitefinity\cmsstartup.aspx
    Logon Method Anonymous
    Logon User Anonymous
    -----

So, I manually added the 2.0 handler mapping:

    %windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll
    PageHandlerFactory-ISAPI-2.0-64

    and

    %windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll
    PageHandlerFactory-ISAPI-2.0

This actually got me to the project page, but it's all plain-text.

I think I'm very close, but Sitefinity seems to be confused between wanting to use .net 2.0 & 4.0.

    Hi Brian,

If you have downloaded the .NET 4.0 version of Sitefinity 3.7, please take a look at this KB article explaining the steps you need to take to make Sitefinity 3.7 run in .NET 4.0. Also try re-registering ASP.NET 4.0 with IIS.

    Kind regards,

How do I know which version of Sitefinity I have? I'm just the engineer and was provided the software from our Marketing team. Maybe that's the problem.

This is the executable I was given:

    Sitefinity_3_7_2136_standard.exe

    The .dll info is 3.7.2136.240

We ended up just using a blank project and it's working now. It seems like it's the projects created by the project manager that seem to have a problem. However, it was a crazy chore even getting the project manager to run.
