    Hi guys,

I'm trying to implement permissions for my module in the Sitefinity CMS and I could really use some help. I notice that the other modules use the control Telerik.Security.WebControls.PermissionSet to handle the UI. I would like to use in my module. Will this work?

I think that I should inherit my module class from Therik.Security.SecuredModule. Is this correct?

I've read all the documentation and searched the internet but it's impossible to find any help so I would really appreciate it if someone at Telerik could take the time to explain how to go about this. I'm sure that it would be useful for other users of the Sitefinity CMS.

I love the CMS, it seems really well coded, the usability is great and it looks good too... but do you have any plans to expand upon the current documentation? Learning your product has been a very slow and painful experience so far.

    Many thanks,
    Jon.

    Hello Jon,

Thank you for the feedback - it is very important to us for identifying problems and solving them. The documentation is in the process of thorough update and we hope that as soon as it is ready it will be a much better guide for customers through the voyage with Sitefinity.

Could you please check the following section in the Developer Manual:
Security -> Permissions -> How to

This section contains topics that provide guidelines for setting permissions for a pluggable module:
Add Permissions to a Pluggable Module
Add Permissions to a Pluggable Module: Global Permission
Add Permissions to a Pluggable Module: Control Panel

Hope that this information is helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact us in case you have any other questions.

    Greetings,
    Nikifor
