Hello John Bonner,
Sitefinity pages are stored into the database and they are not physical files. All logic is based inside user/custom controls. You could access page level events by creating a custom class that inherits InternalPage class. Sitefinity uses standard ASP.NET templates( master pages) and themes.
Sitefinity supports standard ASP.NET web pages as a page of type "External Page". The External Pages cannot be edited through Sitefinity's page editor ( drag -drop controls. ) You could set only some properties and include the page in website navigation. External Pages should be modified through VS.
Migration the content from one website to Sitefinity could be done by using the API. There is not straight forward way how to do this because there are many variables and only a few constants.
