    Hi there,

I have now installed Sitefinity 3.7 on a Windows 7 x64 with lots of issues associated to this task.
That put aside, I have now created the database on a remote server running SQL 2005, registered an administrator and are now in the last step of the wizard; 3 Import template data.

    Unfortunately, it keep displaying:
Importing template data failed: Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1.. Check the error log for more details.

The error log, which I assume is located in the App_Data folder of the website being setup, reports this:

Any help is much appreciated - it is probably related to app-pool identity or similar, as the communication with the database works fine. Last statement executed before the error was (using SQL profiler):

    exec dbo.sf_CmsPageProps_pkq @PO_Application=N'/',@PO_ID='A8DFF4BA-E5ED-4459-99A9-DB2CEBD7C2BA'

    Hi Michael Mortensen,

Which template you are trying to import? Is this some of the built-in templates or it is a custom one?
From the stack trace it looks like that the problem comes from a content view based control. There is a problem with its Master and Details settings which cannot be deserialized due to malformed XML. Both the settings - Master and Details are represented by XML.

    Hi Ivan,

    Thank you for your reply.
I skipped this part, as I was unable to succeed in adding "default" data to the website.
But to answer your question, I used one of the built-in dataset for Company (or Organization).

    /Michael

    Hello Michael Mortensen,

I tried to reproduce the issue locally with a vanilla new project and the template was properly inserted. Anyway, it is good to hear that you have sorted the issue at your end.

    All the best,
