    Folks,

I just downloaded Sitefinity v3.7 Community Edition, and tried to install it (several times now) on my Win7 Pro x64 system - to no avail.

IIS 7.5 *is* installed, I *am* the admin on this box, and I *am* running the setup as "Administrator" - and still about two-thirds into the installation it aborts with an error "Error creating virtual directory telerik/Sitefinity3.7.Community. Exception details: Unknown error (0x80005000)". I get that dialog box twice, and at the end another one "Sitefinity 3.7 Community Installer Information - Error 1001".

I tried it several times, rebooting in between - nothing appears to work. I can't find any mention of install problems in your knowledge base or the forums either.

Any ideas?? I'd really like to try out Sitefiniity 3.7 - but I'd need to be able to install it first! :-)

System is:  Win7 Professional, x64 version, 4 GB of RAM, .NET 3.5SP1 installed (with Win7), VS2008 SP1 installed, SQL Server 2008 SP1 installed.

    Marc

    Hi Marc Hoeppner,

You can give a try to Blank project installation using VS. You may find the following posts useful.

    Hello mscheuner,

You can use one of the archives listed below

  6. Community edition project for .NET 3.5 (zip, 16 MB)
  7. Community edition project for .NET 2.0 (zip, 16 MB)

  8. The first one is executable - msi, the other files are templates and patches.

    Ivan Dimitrov

    Hello mscheuner,

Can you try first to login to your account and then navigate to the downloads section? Then download the file.

Make sure you have IIS Metabase and IIS 6 configuration compatibility checked off under:

Internet Information Services -> Web Management Tools -> IIS6 Management Compatibility

    (Windows Features)
