    Hi,

I have downloaded and try in install sitefinity3.6, I have windows xp and IIS5.1.

The installation created the virtual directory in Telerik-->Sitefinity3.6,

when i try to open the default page it asked me user name and password and it seems authentication required , So i have enabled the Anonymous access, So now i can able to view the default page of sitefinity But when i try to create a new project it shows me error "The account, you have authenticated with, has no permissions to create virtual directories. Please make sure that windows authentication is enabled."

But i have enabled the WINDOWS AUTHENTICATION

As per Troubleshoot document if i disable the anonymous access, it will ask for user name and password.

    Help me in this issue.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Dhina,

You can take a look at the following link where you will find several types of Sitefinity Installation and most common errors that are thrown during the installation.

    SitefinityWatch - Installation
    ProjectManager Permissions

There are no big differences between installation under XP, Vista, Server 2008  Also, make sure that your server\username is written in the upper right corner of the projectmanager.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Dhina,

If you get stuck you could try disabling Anonymous authentication and then use your windows account usernama and password to authenticate yourself. Another option is using a BlankProject which functionality is the same.

    All the best,

Have you tried to "Run-As" another user (such as windows built-in Administrator account)? Just make sure whatever user you choose has a password, as you cannot use the "Run-As" option with a user with no password.

    Hello noshi akhter,

Thank you for your interest in our CMS.
It seems that you have downloaded Sitefinity for the .net3.5 version. Those lines are new, and does not exist in the .net2.0 version. Please try downloading Sitefinity for .net20 (these versions contain _NET20 in the end).
You can also try to open the project in Visual Studio, go to the Build dialog and target .NET20.

Let me know how it goes.

    Best wishes,
    Georgi
