    hey there,

Is it possible to have Sitefinity log its events straight to the windows event log as apposed to the Sitefinity.log file?

If it is possible, are there any good reasons not to do this?

    Regards,
    Jacques

    Hello J.Hoventer,

Most of the hosting providers do not provide access to the web server log file, so it is better the data to be stored in the project folder. The default path of the built-in  WebEventProvider could not be changed, but you could create a custom WebEventProvider and set the log path the another destination.

My application seems to be crashing a lot right out of the box.  I have installed the latest version 3.7 and when I edit generic content section it seems to intermittently crash with a "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page".  If I change just one line of text this doesn't seem to happen as much but if I edit some text in word and past it in, crash..

I am running it in development on my 64bit win 7 box and followed all the steps to set it up.  Not sure if I am missing some small security setting or what but I do not see a log file in this directory at all to help determine why I am getting these crashes.  Any correlation?

    Hello Chris Rathermel,

Sitefinity log is located in App_Data folder. You can also check your IIS log to see if there will be some more detailed information. You could try to reproduce the issue on our demo website http://demo.sitefinity.com/Home.aspx and if the problem persists, it will be great if you send the steps and content that can be used for replicating this issue.

    Best wishes,
