    Hi

    We are using Sitefinity community edition 3.7.

    In one of the websites we are designing, we have merged Sitefinity into an existing app.  All works well, except for one very odd issue:

    The login page's codebehind won't read the textboxes with the username and password.  As a result, no one can login.  Temporarily, I have provided a page that you put in a given value and that logs you in.  But...

    Any pointers?

    Thanks

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew Wrigley,

    The code of Sitefinity Login page is exposed - Sitefinity\Login.aspx.cs.  We use ASP.NET Login control. You can attach VS debugger to LoggedIn and Authenticate and see what is going wrong.

    Hi Ivan

    Thanks for replying.

    I have debugged the code behind, but there is no apparent reason why the username text box and password textbox both return null, rather than the user's input.

    I can build an entirely new login page, but...

    Andrew

    PS:  all our other Sitefinity-only sites work fine.  So it must have something to do with the merging.  Can I send my web.config?

    Hello Andrew Wrigley,

    Please try the bellow:
    TextBox UserNameTxtBox = (TextBox)Login1.Controls[0].FindControl("UserName");
    TextBox Password = (TextBox)Login1.Controls[0].FindControl("Password");

     The textboxes are added as part of the layout template of the login control so you would have to get a reference of them though the collection of children controls of the layout template of the login control.

    Many thanks, that works.

    Not sure why it was different for this app, whereas the other ones work just fine.

    But so be it.
