    My host doesn't support the Classic Pipeline, just pure IIS7. Does that rule out SiteFinity for me?

    This is important to all considering hosting anywhere that may have this restriction.

    Hi Simon,

    We haven't tested and optimized completely Sitefinity to work with Integrated pipeline. There will be some problems with this mode, so we don't recommend using Sitefinity with these hosting settings.
    We have this task logged and will definitely try to improve our CMS, so it could work with Integrated pipeline as well.

    Kind regards,
    Georgi

    Hi again,

    Its been just about a year since this forum post, and I'm very much looking for a solution for me to host Sitefinity websites on my Mosso account. I'd like to work with you to make this possible.

    I've been trying to install SF Community Edition to test on http://sf.cdinos.com/ - but I keep getting permission errors.

    I didn't want to download an exe file - so I just downloaded a project zip for asp.net 2.0 from the downloads page (current version, 3.6).

    Any idea why I'm getting a permission error?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello Dinos Papoulias,

    Could you please send us the log file located in the App_data directory? The custom errors are turned on and we are not able to see the actual exception remotely.

    As for the Mosso hosting, please make sure that you follow the KB Article:
    Everything there is valid both for cloud hosting and NLB environments.

    Hi James,

       I had no problem with Mosso.  I just set up a SiteFinity site last week.  If you have any custom code, you need to watch out for the error Telerik Rad Ajax Control Not Enough Permissions.  To fix that just make sure you inherit the class from Telerik.Web.UI.

    Hi Dinos Papoulias,

       I have the lastest version of Sitefinity 3.6 asp.net version 3.5.net with SQL Server 2008 up and running good on Mosso.  The only problem I am running into is the Event list control, it will not save the summary settings.  Trouble shooting that today.

      The permission problem could be related to file permissions.  If that the case insert this into your web.config file.

    <

    identity impersonate="true" userName="dfw\TheFTPLoginName" password="FTPpassword" />

    Note dfw is datacenter my website is being hosted at.

      Next item to do is  set up is to Schedule a http Cron Job.  Point the job to your website, and run it every ten minutes to keep the site alive in the application pool.

     Note:  If you upload a change asp.net file on mosso, delete the web.config file and reupload it to refresh your site.  This will force Mosso to reload your web application.

    Hi David,

    Thank you for your follow up on this one.  Perhaps we will add this somewhere for a future reference.

    Are there any other modifications necessary with the web.config?  I tried your solution and it did not work with Sitefinity 3.6 or 3.7.

    Mosso new sercurity settings is a modified medium trust level.  This means do not place trust level = medium in the web.config file.  If you do place that in your web.config you will overwrite some settings that Sitefinity needs to work like ReflectionPermission.

    Look at the items below.  If you still have problems send me your email address, and I will sent you a copy of my web.config file to compare.

  11. Second, you need to turn off healthMonitoring:
    <healthMonitoring enabled="false" heartbeatInterval="0">

  12. Third, you need to turn off page and module workflow
    allowPageWorkflow="false"
    allowWorkflow="False"

    Hello David ,

    One more thing is needed -

    Please check that all section names defined in the web.config file have requirePermission="False" :
     <sectionGroup name="telerik"
          <section name="dataAccess" type="Telerik.DataAccess.Configuration.SectionHandler, Telerik.DataAccess"
           requirePermission="false"/>

    If everything from the above is set, you should face no problems.

    Sincerely yours,
    Georgi

    I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong, so here are the steps that I am performing:

    1) downloaded Sitefinity 3.7 community zip file
    2) extracted and ftp'd to Mosso server
    3) modified web.config in the following areas
    a) <customErrors mode="Off">
    b) <healthMonitoring enabled="false" heartbeatInterval="0">
    c) all findings of "allowPageWorkflow" and "allowWorkflow" were already set to false in web.config
    d) tried with and without <identity impersonate="true" userName="dfw\USERNAME" password="PASS" />
    e) Only two section names in <sectionGroup name="telerik"> didn't have requirePermission="false", so I added it to section names spamProtector and performanceCounter

    The error is happening after I submit my SQL 2008 database info.  I get the following on cmsstartup.aspx:

    Security Exception

    Description: The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy.  To grant this application the required permission please contact your system administrator or change the application's trust level in the configuration file.

    I will post my web.config if necessary...

    Hi Dino,

    It is good that you mentioned cmsstartup.aspx. I now know that you are trying to run the project setup, which requires some higher privileges.
    Please run this procedure in Full trust, on your local computer for example. Once you setup the project locally, you can upload it. Sitefinity should be deployed when the project is completed, in other words you can't upload a brand new project and develop your site in Medium trust.

    That fixed it!  Thanks everyone who helped.

    I installed Sitefinity on my localhost then pushed the files up and made those couple corrections on the web.config and all was fine with the Mosso setup.

    Thanks again!
