the first one is configured to show thumbnails, titles etc
the second one just shows the head line

i've set the first one to show the first 3 news articles
i now want to set the other one to show news items 4 and onward, but not sure how
    is it possible in 3.7sp4

    Hi Markus,

There is no option to divide the items in the sequence. You should better use a filter if you want to use the default control. Of course custom control is always an option.

    Hi Markus,

For Categories you can use Category IN ("categoryname").The condition allows you to filter by multiple categories separated by comma or using AND operand. For tags you can use Tag.Name = "yourtag". You can filter only by one tag.

    All the best,

    thanks

however, i dont need to filter on category or tag

I need to order by publication date, and pull through the a specified amount
    i.e. from record 4 onwards

    is that possible?

    Hi Markus,

You can use Publication_Date <= "#now" AND Expiration_Date > "#now" or instead of now you need to type the data range. Note that this are static values. If you want to do it dynamically you need a custom control that inherits from the base class ( say NewsView) and you need to override CreateChildControls(). Before the base you need to include the filter expression logic. There is a built-in class ContentFilterBuilder that you can use.

    Kind regards,

    Thanks Ivan

Looks like i'd need to do a custom control
Are there any code examples floating around about this?
