I'm using GoDaddy and have mostly been able to get Sitefinity to work. I had to comment out the RadUploadModule and RadUploadProgress references in the web.config to get uploads to work but they do work without the progress bar option.

The reason I'm posting is because I'm having trouble with the Newsletter module. I added the smtp server settings provided by GoDaddy which passed the test. I then went on to activate the settings and tried sending a test newsletter. According to the Sitefinity admin, everything worked great without error. However, I'm not receiving the test emails. Is there any way for me to determine why this is happening? By the way, I did check my spam folder. I'm testing with a gmail.com email address.

I'm satisfied so far with the Godaddy hosting because it's low cost and Sitefinity seems to perform well in their environment. I can do without the upload progress bar. However, I must get the newsletter module working for this project. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Hi Brandon,

Can you please check what is the status of the e-mails that are sent? Here is how the Newsletters module works:
    1. When you send the mail, the module connects to a web service (WebMailingService).
    2. The Service connects to the SMTP server
    3. If the SMTP accepts the connection and the letter, Web Service reports back to the module that the letter is sent, and it should appear in the Sent directory (just like in Outlook). Otherwise, the mail is reported as Failed one.

Once the mail go beyond the SMTP, we do not keep track of it. Perhaps you should wait for a while, Googe service might report something.

    All the best,
    Georgi

Thanks for your quick response. Good news! I finally received the email. It just took some time. I guess I should have expected some latency in a shared hosting environment.

    Thanks again. Sitefinity rocks!

    Hi Brandon,

Thank you for the quick follow up, and letting us know about the status of the issue. I am very glad that everything is fine. Perhaps the SMTP servers have their bad days (with a lot of work) too :).

Thank you for the nice words as well. Let us know if we can do anything else for you.

    Regards,
