    Hey guys,

I'm currently just evaluating Sitefinity and a critical capability that's desired is to be able to install/setup a sitefinity install that already has custom templates/themes/modules/etc. in it that we've created. Basically we want to put our own site into the install similar to the "hello world" test project that's included now. Is this a possibility and if so, is there documentation for accomplishing this?

    Hello Trevor,

Could you elaborate some more about the result you want to achieve?

    Hey,

Yeah for sure. My company tends to roll out a lot of sites with similar functionality, pages, architecture, etc. We want to ...not automate it, but make it easier. We want to be able to have an install package that installs sitefinity as well as creates a project with a Home page, a Login page, a Registration page, etc, using the templates that we provide and then all we have to do is hand it to the design team to skin it with css/themes if need be.

When I first got to the Project Manager screen there was an option to create a Telerik sample site. We want to be able to, instead of creating a Telerik site, create our own site.

    Is this possible?

    Hello Trevor,

You can use Export Tool of Sitefinity (Administration >> Tools). The tool is useful when you want to export basic skeleton of a website - several pages, templates controls. Note that this tool cannot be used if you want to export a large website. For cases when you need to reuse a lot of content and data you can work with FTP, database backups, replication tools etc.

Thanks a lot for the quick response. That is probably something we can work with, as the websites aren't that big.

    Thanks again,
    Trev
