    Hi guys,

    I'm feeling a bit silly at the moment, so pardon this posting.

    I believe I currently have the Standard edition trial of Sitefinity 3.7 (SP2) installed, but I can't for the life of me figure out if there needs to be something enabled to turn on page workflow (Approve / Publish / etc).

    A few months ago I trialled 3.6 and I remember using the publish options, but they no longer appear in my current version. I am fairly sure that I am not using the community edition as there's no "Powered by Sitefinity" logo appearing on pages.

    Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?

    Hello Alvaro,

    You can enable page workflow through your web.config file as shown below

    <cms defaultProvider="Sitefinity" pageExtension=".aspx" redirectToHomePage="false" projectName="DEV" disabled="false" pageEditorUIMode="Overlay">
                <providers>
                    <clear/>
                    <add connectionStringName="DefaultConnection" allowPageHistory="true"  allowPageWorkflow="True" cachingProviderName="ASPNET" name="Sitefinity" type="Telerik.Cms.Data.DefaultProvider, Telerik.Cms.Data"/>
                </providers>

    Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Sincerely yours,
    Ivan Dimitrov

    Hi,

    I have changed allowPageWorkFlow="true" and in permissions, denied Publish and  Approve.

    even then, it's showing me the Publish button. And allowing me to publish the content.

    Kindly confirm, can we use default workflow in sitefinity trial?

    Or do we need to add anything.

    Thanks in advance,

    Manohar.

    Hello Manohar K,

    The trial version of Sitefinity is a fully featured version, you just do not have a license to use it in production. In this train of thought Worfklow permissions do work in the trial version of Sitefinity 3.X Standard Edition (no workflow in Community Edition). Workflow permissions are set by roles. So once you revoke publish/approve permissions for users belonging to a certain role, they will not be able to publish/approve anymore. Did you log in with a user belonging to a role to which you removed those permissions or you were logged in with the administrator account?
