    Hello,

I am a web designer, used to building (and editing/updating) website via Dreamweaver for clients.

A new client has come to us, requesting our help in a radical update to their website. The site is pretty large and will need to contain a CMS which the client themselves can maintain (for site content).

They are looking towards sitefinity (and from what I've seen it's a very good piece of software). My question is that it's a BIG piece of software and one that runs within the world of ASP.NET. Now, ASP.NET is something we have VERY little experience of and I'm trying to find out (in pretty simple plain english) is whether sitefinity needs a lot of tech ASP.NET knowledge to initially set-up? Or whether the programme itself does all the techy back-end stuff and thus someone with limited knowledge would be able to get it up and running?

    Any information greatly received.

    Thanks in advance!
    Martin.

    Hi martin,

    Thank you for contacting us!
Sitefinity is a  ASP.NET based system. We have documentation regarding installation and set up and the environment that you should have to get the project working. Of course you need to have some general knowledge that it is not directly related with Sitefinity as to asp.net.

Here is a link to the available documentation http://www.sitefinity.com/support/documentation.aspx . You can take a look at Installation Guide and User Manaul which cover a lot Sitefinity as interface. More information about the architecture could be found in our Developer Manual.

Let us know if you need further assistance. We will assist you with every problem you could face.

    Best wishes,
