I am trying to set up a website for our Old Age Pensioners' Action Group using Sitefinity. I have most of it up and running but I cannot get the forum to work properly.  Although I can put up threads, other members of the group are barred from doing so.  Please, please, what have I done wrong and what can I do to correct it?  The site is www.nottinghampensionersactiongroup.org.uk.

Any help or guidance would be most appreciated.

    Hello Alasdair Baxter,

It seems that Deny anonymous authors ( go to  forum settings) is set to True. So, when you try to create/reply to a new post you should be redirected to LoginPage of Forums control. In your case you have not set LoginPage for the login control and all not authenticated users are redirected to the main forum - http://www.nottinghampensionersactiongroup.org.uk/Discussions.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fDiscussions.aspx

Also check Permissions options for Forums module and set the proper Allow, Deny rights for your roles. Let me know how it goes.

    Kind regards,

Thanks for your help.  Can you please tell me is there a way of assigning a registered user to a group at registration?

    Hello Alasdair Baxter,

You can use the built-in CreateUser control. It has a property DefaultRoles where you can enter array of default roles separated by comma.

    I am still lost.

I am very much a novice when it comes to websites and design so bear with me. Last year I set up www.nottinghampensionersactiongroup.org.uk and I am now trying to get into the edit function to allow me to add a picture as a frontispiece and to add more folders and pages to the site.  Please, please can someone help me?

I am sorry for being so ignorant.

    Alasdair Baxter.
