I get the error "Access to the path 'C:\Windows\TEMP' is denied." when I try to enter the Admin section of the Sitefinity admin. The site is running in a shared, full-trust environment.

I'm wondering if there is a way to select  a new folder to use as the temp directory. I'm not able to create folders outside of my site and I'm unable to create users. I need to have the search capabilities, but I have no way of creating what is set by default.

    Thanks,
    J.R. Garcia

    Hi J.R. Garcia,

You are getting the error, because ASP.NET Worker process does not have rear/write permissions over this folder. I suggest that you should grant read/write/modify  permissions to fix the issue. Generally you can change the TEMP folder following this steps, but this could not fix the problem

    • Right click on My Computer and click on Properties.
    •  In the resulting dialog click on the Advanced tab
    • Click on the button near the bottom labeled Environment Variables
    • You will seeTEMP listed in System Variables window.

Sorry if I wasn't clear about the environment. I don't have access to anything but FTP. What I'm asking is if there is a way to tell Sitefinity what folder to use to store temporary data in. I have no access to folders or permissions on the server outside of what is in my FTP folder.

    Thanks,
    J.R. Garcia

    Hi J.R. Garcia,

This is a server side problem. It is not related to Sitefinity. I suggest that you should contact your host and ask him to grant the needed permissions.
