    Hi,

I develop a site using the community edition, and upgraded to the Standard Trial on my local dev servers.  I am getting ready to upload the new files to the live server now.

The live database contains live data (content) for the new site.  My local sql server contains just test data.

When I upgraded on my local server did the Standard Trial edition make any changes to the database?
Do I need to download the live database and redo the upgrade?

Last question:  I should only install the License File on the live server?

    Thanks,
    David

    Hi David ,

When you upgrade your project you should not make any changes to the database. The database will be upgraded automatically.

If you want to use the data from your production server that contains live data - you should use this database when upgrading. Then migrate the project to the server.  It is recommended that all upgrades should be performed under Full Trust with dbo permissions of the database.

I should only install the License File on the live server?

On the production server you need to add the LicenseFile.xml under Sitefinity folder of your project to remove the trial message.

Thanks Ivan for the quick reply.  I will redo what I did with a copy database then.  The site will be live in about two days.  Thanks for the help.
