    Hi

I've just installed Sitefinity for a test-drive. Everything went well, and I can access the administrationmodule just fine -at least the frontpage.

I haven't got SQL Server on the machine, as I need to use MySQL as the datastorage. So, how do I go about setting Sitefinity up for MySQL ?

I can't find any info what so ever on this in the manuals...

    Thank you for helping out.

    Regards Henrik

    Hi henrik,

First of all, you need to create your MySQL database. After that, you should set the Database in the process of creating Sitefinity project (have a look at the attached screenshot):

    1. Choose MySQL from the list with databases
    2. Set MySQL connection properties

You could find more information for creating projects in the User Manual, chapter Creating Projects.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hello,

I have been trying for two days now to get my MySQL database working with SiteFinity.

The first time that I create a new project on a fresh install, it is successful in bringing me to the page where you connect to the database. I enter the database information, and then after that, I try to continue, and it gives me the following error.

Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    David

    Hi David,

Could you please try setting up the connection string directly in the web.config file and then running Sitefinity again? Let us know about the result.

    Sincerely yours,
