In looking through the What's new in 3.2 post (http://www.sitefinity.com/support/forums/support-forum-thread/b1043S-bcbmbk.aspx), I came across "Links to CMS pages in RadEditor" - could anyone clarify what exactly that means?   Thanks.

    Hi Wendy,

"Links to CMS pages in RadEditor" means that you can easily insert hyper-text links that point to pages created with Sitefinity. In other words, you are able simply to select the page you want to have a link to, instead of entering the page's URL manually.
You have this option enabled in all generic content editors in Sitefinity.

Don't hesitate to contact us again if there's anything else you would like to know about Sitefinity.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Georgi,

Can you confirm that the links to CMS pages in RadEditor functionality creates dynamic links vs static links?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Hi Kevin Pipher,

No, this option is generating static links. If you point a link to "somepage.aspx" and then change somepage.aspx to "somepage1.aspx" ( for example) the link will be broken. To avoid this, you could add more URLs for a given page, instead of changing its name. In this case you keep a reference even to the old page's name.

Perhaps it would be very useful if the links were dynamic. We will consider this for future implementations.

    Kind regards,
    Georgi

    Thanks for the reply Georgi.

I was under the impression the CMS page links in the rad editor was to replace the dynamic hyperlink control, but perhaps I was mistaken.

I think I speak for all sitefinity users when I say it is very important for the CMS links to be dynamic.  Link management is very important, especially for large sites.

    Thanks.
