Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity3.7\ProjectManager\Templates\Community-Summer' is denied.

    Server Error in '/telerik/Sitefinity3.7' Application.

Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity3.7\ProjectManager\Templates\Community-Summer' is denied.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity3.7\ProjectManager\Templates\Community-Summer' is denied.

ASP.NET is not authorized to access the requested resource. Consider granting access rights to the resource to the ASP.NET request identity. ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically {MACHINE}\ASPNET on IIS 5 or Network Service on IIS 6) that is used if the application is not impersonating. If the application is impersonating via <identity impersonate="true"/>, the identity will be the anonymous user (typically IUSR_MACHINENAME) or the authenticated request user.

To grant ASP.NET access to a file, right-click the file in Explorer, choose "Properties" and select the Security tab. Click "Add" to add the appropriate user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account, and check the boxes for the desired access.

    Hi sanjay,

The worker process account does not have permissions over 'C:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity3.7\ProjectManager\Templates\Community-Summer

SiteFinity problem:  I tried to install SiteFinity on My windows 7 computer.  I even rebooted the computer. And Gave IUSER Full access Rights to the folder which Telerik installs to and this error keeps coming up when I try and create a new project.

Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\telerik\Sitefinity3.7\ProjectManager\Templates\Community-Summer' is denied.

I am running the site from :

    http://localhost/telerik/Sitefinity3.7/

This is very disappointing; considering this is a clean install of sitefinity.

I DECIDED TO GIVE THE "EVERYONE" GROUP ACCESS TO THIS FOLDER TELERIK CREATES..  I ALSO CREATED ANOTHER DEFAULT WEBSITE FOLDER and reassigned teh default website to the "BLANK" FOLDER.....To note: it left the virtual directory for site finiity.  I also made sure the app pool for the default website was .net 4.0 and sitefinity was .net 4.0.

SITE FINITY NEEDS TO DO A BETTER JOB WITH SECURITY.  IT REALLY STINKS WHEN YOU HAVE TO GRANT THE "EVERYONE" SECURItY GROUP ACCESS TO YOUR SITEFINITY LOCALHOST WEBSITES.

TO NOTE: THIS NOT ON A PRODUCTION WEB SERVER BUT ON MY LAPTOP...so everyone would work fine.

I, too, have spent over 10 hours trying to get Sitefinity to work. I have followed all the docs, but  still get errors from permission issues (i had to grant full permissions to everybody) to every other error that can be thrown.
I can install WordPress in 10 minutes and other CMS' systems in under 30 minutes. Heck SharePoint installs and is up and runninfg in under 30 minutes, WITHOUT ERRORS. Why is Sitefinity so difficult to run on 64 bit Windows 7 professional with IIS 7.5.

Sitefinity is just too much work and effort - not ready for prime time!

    Hello,

Sitefinity runs under the account that is used by your application pool. If this account doesn't have needed permissions Sitefinity cannot perform common read/write operations on the file system. Generally the application pool and the worker process should use NETWORK SERVICE account.
