I migrated a sitefinity website from development to production server and was not able to view any page. Whenever I tried opening a page it showed an error "The system cannot find the file specified". I did some research and followed the instructions to copy dll file from folder \Sitefinity\ServiceAssemblies to bin folder. but after I did that I started seeing a different error as below:

XML Parsing Error: no element found
    Line Number 1, Column 1:

I deleted the copied dll file from bin folder but I still see the same error. Everything is working fine on the development server. Someone please help me resolving this issue.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello ,

For some reason .NET Framework generates a response of type "application/xml" when it creates an empty page. Firefox parses the file as XML and finding no root element, spits out the error message. If you open the url in IE you will see HTTP 500 Internal Server error. Most probably you have some custom code that somehow interacts with the new server settings. Check whether you have some custom lines in Global.asax as well. Make sure that all files are copied correctly. Try using different folder in your server( for example "http://yourIP/ProjectDir/".

    Kind regards,
