    hi,
    i've tried to download and install Sitefinity desktop application but installation failed.
    log msg:
    - Downloading http://www.sitefinity.com/LightningClient/official/Application Files/Sitefinity.Lightning_1_0_0_0/Telerik.Lightning.Model.dll.deploy did not succeed.
    Someone can help me?
    i use sitefinity 6.1 trial

    Hi Alberto,

    Let me just make sure - you are downloading the installer (setup.exe) from here and you're receiving this error during the download process? I'm asking as I couldn't reproduce it locally on our end here.

    Also, if you could send over a screenshot, that would help as well! Thanks!

    I use VS2010 on Windows 7. I also had an installation error, but checking the installation logs revealed it was due to the fact that I had not installed ASP.NET 4.5.  The specific error was in the downloading of the .NET 4.5 full-install executable.  Downloading and installing .NET 4.5 prior to the DAM setup.exe resolved the issue. Hope it helps.

    i try to update S desktop application and i get this error:

    Below is a summary of the errors, details of these errors are listed later in the log.
    * Activation of http://www.sitefinity.com/LightningClient/official/Sitefinity.Lightning.application resulted in exception. Following failure messages were detected:
    + Downloading http://www.sitefinity.com/LightningClient/official/Application Files/Sitefinity.Lightning_1_1_0_0/Telerik.Lightning.ViewModel.dll.deploy did not succeed.
    + The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive.
    + Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
    + An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host

    Hi Alberto,

    Issues like that are typically caused by firewalls blocking the connection. Could you check if you have any firewalls running, which might be cutting you off?
