    Hey,

I'm using Lightning 0.9.6.0 from a Dutch pc, connecting to a mono-lingual (EN default) Sitefinity instance and out-of-the-box some fields are displayed in Dutch, while others are displayed in English.

Do we have a consensus on what it should be? I'm more than happy to point out hardcoded labels or help with localization but I'm not sure as to what the expected behavior is.

The screenshot in the attachment shows the translated Dutch labels.

    Hello Jochem,

    Thank you for contacting us!

Field labels are related to the backend language of the Sitefinity site. You might be in a mono-lingual mode but what is the default backend language of your site?
Do you use it with a dutch translation pack, which allows translation?
As far as the hard-coded labels are concerned, this is a missing functionality indeed.
We are having in mind this and localization support is part of our future releases planning.

I'll be glad to assist you further with any questions arisen.

    Kind regards,

    Hey Ivaylo,

Did you guys figure out a strategy for localization so we can start reporting issues and/or help with translating labels?

Like I said in the post before, it was a sitefinity install out-of-the-box so no languages were added/changed (backend or frontend) and only the Windows8 installation is Dutch.

Given that its a desktop application, I'd prefer labels not to change no matter to what website/instance I'm connecting to and avoid the annoyance we've been through with Sitefinity backend editing automatically changing the BE language depending on the content language you're working in, but if we have to, I'd like it to be working straight from v1.

    Jochem.

    Hello Jochem,

Up until now the adoption of the operating system locale haven`t been changed and localizable buttons will take the OS locale in Dutch and non localizable ones still remain in english.
