Working with a client on a new site built on 7.1, they reported being unable to upload any images or documents when using the desktop application. There are no problems uploading files via the web admin.

I tried this myself using v1.2 of the app and connecting w/ the Administrator account and was also unable to upload files. The app gives a generic "upload failed" message. I looked at the errors in AddData\Roaming\SitefinityDA\SitefinityDA.log on my local machine and they're just a vague:

    2014-08-29 11:38:56,481 [28] ERROR Telerik.Lightning.Core.Logger - One or more errors occurred.
    2014-08-29 11:39:21,154 [33] ERROR Telerik.Lightning.Core.Logger - One or more errors occurred.
    2014-08-29 11:42:21,945 [41] ERROR Telerik.Lightning.Core.Logger - One or more errors occurred.
    2014-08-29 11:43:36,497 [19] ERROR Telerik.Lightning.Core.Logger - One or more errors occurred.
    2014-08-29 11:46:57,434 [44] ERROR Telerik.Lightning.Core.Logger - One or more errors occurred.

What needs to be done to fix this problem?

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting us!

Could you check the Error.log of Sitefinity as the problem seems to be in the Sitefinity website not in the DAM client. The error log is located under C:\Path\To\SitefinityWebApp\App_Data\Sitefinity\Logs\Error.log

Also could you provide more info for the project such as are there any custom HTTP modules in it and what is the file size of the images.

I was able to fix this issue: I needed to create a folder called "Lightning" inside the \App_Data\Sitefinity\Temp\Libraries directory.

When I checked the error.log you mentioned, there were no errors related to this. When I tried to upload a tiny test file and it failed, I checked the log again and there were no new errors.

I did notice that there was another log file in the same directory that had been updated called DAM.log. In it there was just one record with the error "Access to the path 'C:\inetpub\vhosts\tredittire.com\staging.tredittire.com\App_Data\Sitefinity\Temp\Libraries\Lightning' is denied.".

At first I granted permissions on \Libraries as there was't a Lightning directory, but this didn't fix the issue. Once I manually created the Lightning directory, I was successfully able to upload an image.
