    Hi

    Is it possible to build in some form of 301 redirect for old website URLs etc

    the current functionality doesn't use 301 redirects and a few clients have requested this

    Thanks

    Hi Quade,

    Thank you for using our services.

    There are few ways that I could suggest:
    1. Use IIS - HTTP Redirect to specify rules for redirecting
    2. Create a HttpModule and put some logic for permanent redirect
    3. Place some logic on Application_BeginRequest

    Example:
    private void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
    Response.Status = "301 Moved Permanently"
    Response.AddHeader("Location","http://mynewwebsite.com/page.aspx");

    Let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you.

    Thanks Ivan

    Would users be able to manage 301 redirect using any of these?

    some users are slightly advanced and want the ability to manage custom 301 redirects on html files

    Hi Quade,

    Another way is to add additional URLs to Sitefinity pages, set this url to be the default one, and check the option "Redirect to the default URL". This will make a permanent redirect - HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently, to the new url.
