    Hello,

It would be really useful for the community, if the code-library (http://sitefinity.com/support/code-library.aspx) module could be included in SiteFinity 4.0 as a already built-in module. I think everybody would benefit from sharing code with others.

SF Community: If you like this idea, please share your thoughts to encourage the SF team to include this module.

    Thank you

    Hi Sonu Kapoor,

I am sure this will be interesting to a lot of people.

With the current version of Sitefinity, there are several ways of achieving such feature.

    I. Using the Generic Content/News module.
    1. Define a custom provider for the CodeLibrary items.
    2. Define all the metafields needed for these items - author, version, requirements
    3. Tweak the NewsView/ContentView control to work with this provider (just change the ProviderName property) and change the designers and templates so you could benefit from the metafield on the front end.

II. Using the Images and Documents module
    1. Define a Library for custom types - for example .zip files.
    2. Define all the metafields needed for these items - author, version, requirements
    3. Implement comments for each of the items
    4. Use the DownloadList control with the comments for your front end.

I hope this will help to someone requiring such or similar to the Code Library functionality.

    Sincerely yours,
    Georgi
