    Hi Team,

Could you suggest my wish list for the new version of my preferred cms.
Yes. I know you have our battle plans but... I try.

    1. Be able to segment the Inputs in ControlPanelEdit/Insert.
Yes, many users works with long lists of items and is not funny not be able to segment in pages or panels. Only one long..very long page. Personally I have created one Wizard panel using Radtabs but I can't segment my inputs.

    2. Creating personalized folders using the inputs make by users as foldername during the creation. I need in many times store some images, doc, video, xml files in personalized folders but I can't create on fly during Insert/Edit events. We can create one UserFolder on fly but no more.

    3. Include MapToool from Ivan inside GC Modules. Is very hard for newbies users extend this using multiple tools. Why is not possible directly the GC Modules?. How many times we need complexes solutions for links Images metafields or others items to templates.

    4. Allow RadGrid and standard Grid in ControlPanelList for GC Modules.
     Telerik or Not telerik!

    5. Store preferred User items from GC Modules in some table to create User preferred items and personalize our cms by user.

    6. Allow to use GC Modules Admin Edit/Insert/List templates outside of Admin side. Many times is so complex for users go inside SF to add some items. I tried to personalize this pages but the result is not great and confusing the users.

    7.  Some fix to allow Multiple levels of Module navigation bar. I have many Modules that need 2 or 3 levels in bar navigation admin side. If I fix for 2 levels and some user have not allowed 2 levels but only one is not nice to see the second level emply or not well formed.

    8. One widget to externalize information based in our preferred cms. be able to add in one external site or SF website one widget to link our news, events, blogs post and more like newsletter.

I stop here...Great work Team, and very soon happy new year!
sorry my poor english, spanish or french is better for me.

    Hi Pierre,

We will not be able to grant you all the wishes, despite the holidays... nevertheless, here are the answers:

    >> 1. Be able to segment the Inputs in ControlPanelEdit/Insert.

This can be very simply achieved on the client side. A very simple way to do this is to use RadPanelBar or RadTabStrip. All you need to do is edit the template. With custom modules, of course, there are no limitations and you can create any kind of UI that you desire.

    >> 2. Creating personalized folders using the inputs make by users as foldername during the creation. I need in many times store some images, doc, video, xml files in personalized folders but I can't create on fly during Insert/Edit events.

This will not make it to 3.6, but we are starting to work on some of the personalization features for 4.0. The request you've made would be able to take advantage of personalization.

    >> 3. Include MapToool from Ivan inside GC Modules. Is very hard for newbies users extend this using multiple tools. Why is not possible directly the GC Modules?. How many times we need complexes solutions for links Images metafields or others items to templates.

The map tool was never production ready and there are some design flaws in it. However, the tool did address the concerns and problems reported by many users. In 3.6 we will solve this problem in a much more elegant way - so wish granted - but we will not include the MetaMaster2008 in the codebase.

    >> 4. Allow RadGrid and standard Grid in ControlPanelList for GC Modules.

This has already been done. You will see this in Sitefinity 3.6. Another wish granted!

    >> 5. Store preferred User items from GC Modules in some table to create User preferred items and personalize our cms by user.

Same as with #2. The personalization framework and the features we are adding on it will have ability to bookmark pages and other items based on the user. But this will not come in 3.6.

    >> 6. Allow to use GC Modules Admin Edit/Insert/List templates outside of Admin side. Many times is so complex for users go inside SF to add some items. I tried to personalize this pages but the result is not great and confusing the users.

Sitefinity 4.0 will have browse-and-edit feature which will allow users to edit content without going to admin area. Once again, this will not make it into 3.6, but rather 4.0.

    >> 7. Some fix to allow Multiple levels of Module navigation bar. I have many Modules that need 2 or 3 levels in bar navigation admin side. If I fix for 2 levels and some user have not allowed 2 levels but only one is not nice to see the second level emply or not well formed.

This is a good point and shouldn't be too complicated to implement. I have added it to our feature request system.

    >> 8. One widget to externalize information based in our preferred cms. be able to add in one external site or SF website one widget to link our news, events, blogs post and more like newsletter.

This can be achived through multiple providers which Sitefinity supports. Simply add new provider, point it to the database used by other site and there you go.

Thanks for all the great suggestions and nice words. I hope you'll find this information helpful. Let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

    All the best,

    Hi Team,

    Some misunderstand.
Point1 : You can not segment the process of inputs Metafields during creation of contents in GC Modules. The sfGCn:ContentMetaFields allow only one instance no more. You can't use RadTabs to create pages to add your metafields.

Point2: After many months i have finally fixed this WE after post this wish list. I can generate personalized folders and using Metafields to create-it. I will post later for the community.Basically I use in the button the Standalone Imagemanager or others and Recursive methods to found the items. I need to make many test !Ispostback or not to bee able to cast at the better moment the metafields added.

Point8 : Could you explain more how to point one provider to one external database and go!. I have build many website not working in the same place and I lovely be able to allow external user to point my news or events from our website.

Finally I demand not more features but more samples like DeveloperBlog to use the very big potential that sleeping inside this wonderful tool and that a man like me, can't optimize without your help Ivan, Georgi, Sonya, Pepi and all the team and the others like : Seth and Seam for CF, Joseph and the importing tool, Daniel F for the last fix, SelArom, Ben for contact tool actually lost in the space or eat by clients but here.
    Thanks to alls, Regards.

    Hi Pierre,

    1. you can place the RadTabStrip or a similar control inside of the ContentMetaFields control. The separation you would be doing takes only place on the client so you would not have problems with that. I'll see if I get time and I'll write a short blog post on how to do it. It should be fairly simple though.

    2. Glad that you've found the way.

    3. Yes, in CMS terminology it's called data recycling. This article : http://www.sitefinity.com/help/developer-manual/provider-model.html explains the concept on a high level. Again, this would be an interesting blog post, so I'll try to write on this week.

Romi, we do understand that you would like more samples, but we cannot stop working on the product and features. I believe we have made significant improvements with the documentation this year and we are continuing to do so. Thank you for using Sitefinity and your continuous willingness to make it a better product with your ideas and suggestions. We truly appreciate it.

    Sincerely yours,
    Ivan
