    I dont know if someone has already mentioned this.  In every version of sitefinity, it seems like there is no way to reset someone's password.  This seems rather essential.  Can we get this in the next SP or something?  The only alternative is to delete the account and recreate it, which i would think would destroy some history about that user (pages created/edited, etc.)

    Thanks,
    Craig

    Hello fregas baratis,

    Unfortunately, currently there is no available user interface for resetting user password.
    We have plans to improve SItefinity user management for v3.1and this feature is included.

    Meanwhile you could use the following code the reset the user password:

    string newPassword = UserManager.Default.MembershipProvider.ResetPassword(username, null);

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Best wishes,

    Hello Romain,

    You can create a user control or add a button to the ~/Sitefinity/Admin/CmsAdmin/Users.aspx

    Here is an example:

     public partial class CustomControls_TEST : System.Web.UI.UserControl
     {
        protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {

        }

        protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
            string username = "test"
            string newPassword = UserManager.Default.MembershipProvider.ResetPassword(username, null);
            // return the new password
            Response.Write(newPassword);

            // send e mail to the user or administrator with the new password
            System.Net.Mail.MailMessage message = new System.Net.Mail.MailMessage();
            message.Subject = newPassword;
            string host ="my_host_here"
            SmtpClient client = new SmtpClient(host);
            // sen message here...

        }

    Kind regards,

    I'm sorry but this' my first time developping with Sitefinity, but it's also the first time with ASP techno...

    I see the Users.aspx file isn't a code file. It contains only HTML and ASP tag (XML features).

    I don't know where to put exactly this code, how to config and execute it...

    Maybe it's not the right place to speak about that, so I create a support ticket in MyClient.net page, but I hope there will be more newbies tutotial in the future, videos tutorials help a lot but are very specific...

    Hi Romain,

    The page has code behind which you could modify. I replied to your support ticket a few minutes ago.
