I think it would be neat to have a simple code control that you can drop on a page, similar to the generic content control, but that can run really simple code.

for example, I have a generic control for the <h1> tag of my page header, but I want to be able to change it based on the query string. it would be cool if I could just type in <h1>whatever <%= Request.Querystring["stuff"] %></h1> instead of having to create, register, and load a custom user control. This could also be useful for stuff like displaying the date and time to the user, and other simple controls that are (for the most part) simple and do not require a full control to be used.

    thanks!

    Hello SelArom,

Yes, I see your point on this one. As of right now, we don't have anything of that matter planned, but I think it would be a really nice excercise to develop such a code control. Thanks for suggesting this, we'll be logging it as a feature request.

    Sincerely yours,

thanks for listening :) I think an additional idea to build on this would be to allow people to bind propreties of a control to a querystring field. For example, when you edit a control on a page in the edit section of the admin panel there is always an assortment of properties that can be manually set. It would be cool to be able to pass in dynamic values such as "Querystring" or "profile" or "session" similar to the datasource controls. That way controls can be more dynamic without having to be recoded.

    just an idea. thanks!

    Hi SelArom,

thanks for another cool idea. I'll log it in as the feature request. At the moment we are putting a lot of focus on developer's documentation and ironing out some bugs, so we'll have to wait with the new features a bit.

Nevertheless, they won't get forgotten. Thanks once again for your input.
