Thunder installed, missing from add new item

I've installed Thunder in both Visual Studio 2010 and Visual Studio 2012 and verifed under extensions and updates that it is installed. I also rebooted the PC just in case. I am trying to create a widget using Thunder, but when I go to add new item, there are no Sitefinity templates installed. How do I fix this?

Thanks

Hey Sam,

Have you checked in Visual Studio that under the menu item 'Telerik' you have a Sitefinity Thunder item? Then try and chose the 'connection Settings' to establish a connection to a website or use the Sitefinity Explorer. If all that works, Thunder should be fully operational.

When inside Visual Studio, make sure you've got the project selected and not the Solution, then by chosing menu Project > Add new item you should get a similar screen as attached. Under the Visual C# parent, the second last item should be Sitefinity.

From there you can chose any of the widget templates...

Jochem.

Thanks for help. I went through all the steps and had the same result. Then I tried it with a web application project instead of just a web site project and all the Thunder items showed up. One more question, is there a live tutorial link on how to make a dynamic hyperlink widget like the control that was in 3.x? I searched the forums for one but only found a dead link to a 4.0 example. Thanks again!

Hello Sam,

Sitefinity Thunder does not support web sites. You should not have any problems using a web application project.

You could use a content block as a dynamic hyperlink by adding a hyperlink in the content block as shown in the attached screenshot.

Please let me know if I can be of further help.
